Privacy Policy

Summary

ReflectBlock does not have accounts, sign-in, analytics, advertising, or a developer-operated server. We do not collect, sell, rent, share, or transmit your personal information or browsing activity.

Information handled on your device

To provide its blocking features, ReflectBlock stores the following information locally in Chrome using chrome.storage.local:

• Websites, URL paths, and URL keywords that you choose to block.
• Your protection, schedule, selective content-blocking, Adult Content Shield, and Strict Mode preferences.
• If you enable the optional uninstall reminder, the HTTPS address of the reminder page you enter.

The extension also reads the URL of the active tab when you use Block site and observes navigation URLs only to apply your chosen block rules. It does not keep a browsing history, record page content, collect form data, read passwords or authentication information, or send visited URLs to us or any third party.

How the information is used

Your locally stored settings are used only to run the features you turn on: blocking selected websites or URL patterns, applying schedules, hiding or blocking YouTube Shorts, Facebook Reels, and Instagram Reels, enforcing the optional cooldown, and opening the optional reminder URL after uninstall.

Adult Content Shield uses a domain list packaged inside the extension. The extension does not look up the list remotely or send your browsing activity to a service to determine what to block.

Sharing, sales, and third parties

ReflectBlock does not transmit your data to the developer, advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or any other third party. It does not sell or use data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's website-blocking features.

If you opt in to an uninstall reminder, Chrome opens the HTTPS URL that you selected after the extension is removed. That visit is made by your browser directly to the website you chose; ReflectBlock does not receive or share your settings with that website.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use commitment

ReflectBlock's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In practice, ReflectBlock uses the locally handled information described above only to provide its blocking features and does not transfer it to third parties.

Retention and your choices

Your settings remain in Chrome's local extension storage until you remove them in ReflectBlock, clear the extension's data in Chrome, or uninstall the extension. Because ReflectBlock does not receive a copy of this information, we cannot access, correct, or delete it for you.

Permissions

ReflectBlock uses Chrome permissions solely for its stated purpose:

• Storage keeps your settings on your device.
• Tabs identifies the current site when you choose to block it and applies selected rules during navigation.
• Alarms updates schedules and Strict Mode cooldowns.
• Declarative Net Request and host access apply local blocking rules to the websites you choose and to the bundled adult-domain list.

Children

ReflectBlock does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The extension does not require an account or submit personal information to us.

Changes to this policy

If ReflectBlock's data practices change, we will update this page and revise the date above before the change takes effect.
